why i thon

I THON for the Hoglunds and so that children and their families can make memories with each other. THON has always been a really important part of my time here at Penn State. I joined a committee my freshman year as a way to make friends, but during the meetings, I eventually realized how important the work we were doing was, and how we are all working together to find a cure. I then joined PBL and saw the passion that this organization has with our THON family, the Hoglunds, and then I knew I wanted to participate in THON with such a committed group of people.

When I was too young to remember, my grandfather passed away from cancer. I know many other families have faced the same pain, even losing loved ones far too soon and missing out on the chance to create memories together. This year, as I serve as PBL’s Family Relations Chair, I am committed to working hard for those families and raising money to support an incredible cause.
